Moving House With Your Pet

Moving house is a stressful time for humans and there are lots of things to organise – from changing your address with everyone who needs to know, to finding somewhere like this van leasing Bristol based company https://www.autolyne.co.uk/van-leasing-near-me/bristol who will be able to provide you with transport to get all of your belongings from A to B.

For our pets, the moving house process can be stressful too, and they won’t have any idea of what is going on, so it is important to make sure that you do all that you can to make it easier for your pet so that they can move house with you with as little stress as possible and settle into their new home quickly.

One of the first things to make sure that you do, is to get your pet looked after outside of the house on the day of the move. All of the activity can be distressing for an animal, and whether a friend or family member can care for them for the day, or you book them into  kennels or a cattery this will help them.

When at the new house, make sure that there are plenty of things that smell familiar to them, and it can be a good idea to confine them to one room as a safe space and gradually let them explore as they get more confident with their new home.

Setting up their own special area beforehand makes it easier for them to settle in and get comfortable too.
