It has been said that moving home is one of life’s most stress-inducing activities, but if you know what you’re doing, it doesn’t have to be. Once you have finalised your purchase and sale of property through a Estate Agent Gloucester way such as  TGRES you can start sorting through your belongings. Here are some tips on how to pack ready for the big moving day.

You will need a range of cardboard boxes of various sizes and some more heavy-duty boxes. Packing tape, bubble wrap, stretch wrap, marker pens and sticky labels are also what you’ll want.

When you plan to move to a new home, one of the best first moves is to use it as the ideal opportunity for a major decluttering exercise. We all have clothing, toys or things that for years have not seen daylight, so be ruthless. For instance, if it has not been needed in the last 2 years, take it to a charity shop or sell good quality products on ebay or gumtree.

It often takes longer to pack than you expect, so get a head start and pack things that are not used very nicely and early. A general rule of thumb for a big house is that it would take about two months to get one box a day. Seasonal decorations, gardening equipment (if you move in winter) or winter coats (if you move in summer) could be the first things to get packed, etc.
