Staring British actor Martin Clunes in the title role of the straight talking, grumpy, abrupt, no holds barred Doctor Ellingham, Doc Martin is the hilarious, comedy, smash hit television series that first aired on the ITV Network on the second of September 2004.  Nine series later this tale of Love, accidents, death, tragedy and the daily lives of the people intertwined in the Cornish Village of Portwenn is just as popular as ever.  Struggling with Haemophobia the once successful Vascular Surgeon Doctor Martin Ellingham has to leave his career at Imperial College London to take up a position as a general Practitioner in the sleepy Cornish Village where he enjoyed holidays with his Auntie Joan when he was a child.

The once incredibly talented Heart Surgeon could have taken part in several TQT Studies and been held in high regard and esteem by his colleagues and companies such as https://www.richmondpharmacology.com/specialist-services/tqt who would have relied on his expertise to advise them.  The expert diagnoses provided by the reluctant Doctor sees him provide superb medical care for the Villagers and his on again, off again relationship with School teacher Louisa Glasson played by Caroline Catz is the focal point of the entire series.

Eventually the unlikely pair get married after having a baby boy and continue to live in the Village with the other regular cast members of the show.  These include; Sally Tishell (Pharmacist), Bert and Al. Large (would be business tycoons), (Aunties) Joan and Ruth, and Joseph Penhale (a bumbling Policeman).
