When it comes to deciding on how best to lay out your office space there are a number of things that you need to think about. The final layout will also depend very much on the space that you have available, the number of staff you have working in your office, the work they do and the budget that you have available. Here are some layout ideas for you.

Open plan – this is a layout that has been popular in the past but more and more businesses are moving away from this type of working. It works incredibly well where you have large numbers of people completing the same type of work. For call centres and businesses like accountants it can work incredibly well to have a separate reception area where visitors can be greeted and wait on the Reception Chairs that you pick out and then to have your entire department in one big open plan office with separate meetings rooms off the side of this.

Department offices – another layout that works well is to have smaller offices spades within your building for different departments to work. For example you can have your marketing team working from a separate space to your finance team. This way your teams can work closely together but they do not end up disturbing others with their discussions and telephone calls. As you business grows this may be a layout that you move to if you start with a small open plan set up.
