How to help your grass grow

There are many questions about lawn care that homeowners need to answer for themselves if they want to keep their lawns looking great all year long. One of the most common questions asked is, “How do I maintain my lawns?” Proper lawn care can be a very tedious and time consuming process, but it is very important for the health of the lawn and its plants. If you are not properly  fertilising and mowing your lawn, the roots of the grass will take a long time to nourish themselves and therefore become weak and susceptible to diseases. When this happens, the lawn will look unsightly and may even die.

There are three main components of lawn care: mowing, fertilising, and raking. Cutting off the top is an essential part of cutting down the size of the grass by about one-third, or even more. This, especially in the colder months, is one of the easiest ways to ensure that the lawn stays healthy and looks its best. Mowing the lawn mower into the desired height is essential as well. Ideally, the optimum height for cutting lawns is around three feet. Any shorter than this and the grass is not being cut evenly, and some of the root systems may have been damaged. Good mowing starts with a good mower like a Mountfield. Mountfield Parts are always available from https://www.diyspareparts.com/parts/mountfield/.

The fertilisation process is extremely important as well. Fertilising a lawn will help the lawn grow both naturally and over time, resulting in healthier and stronger plants. It is recommended that fertilize a lawn no more than once a year, and never in the winter.
