Getting to the Paralympics is an uphill struggle for anyone wishing to do so. There are hours and hours of training and commitment just for that one shot at glory, plus it can only be there for a short time. If you don’t take it, the opportunity may never come again. This is not the case for Dillion Labrooy. He, like many others, has to work as an HR consultant during the week and on weekends; he is a prominent wheelchair racer. He is shaping up to be an up-and-coming star of the British Paralympian scene. He, like so many others, uses Walking Aids such as those from https://www.abilitysuperstore.com/collections/walking-aids. So what else can we know about the new kid on the UK Paralympian block?

Dillon started in the sport of wheelchair racing at the tender age of 17. He was inspired by one of the greatest wheelchair racers ever, David Weir. His regime of training is incredibly intense, and he trains five times a week. One of these is for endurance training, with the rest being taken up with track and speed-building racing techniques.

His next target is the 2020 games in Tokyo, but COVID has hampered this. When the games were held a year later, Dillion was there to compete for the UK again, and will continue to grow in confidence and ability and is sure to be challenging for medals.
