The hilariously funny American comedy film “Home Alone” staring Macaulay Culkin as eight-year-old Kevin McCallister sees Kevin accidently left behind at home in Chicago when the rest of his family go off to Paris for Christmas.  The story revolves around Kevin having to defend the family home from “Harry” and “Marv”, two bumbling burglars known as the “Wet Bandits” and all the weird and wonderful ways he devises to try and stop them from gaining entry.  A Security Seal on the door provided by companies such as  https://acmeseals.co.uk/, ice on the front steps, glue on the door handles, a blow torch that sets Harry’s head on fire, spikey toys under the windows, cans of paint hung from rope that swing down to knock out the men and light sockets that cause an electric shock to anybody that touches them!

Meanwhile Kevin’s Parents realise he isn’t with them and try to no avail, to return to Chicago but due to snowstorms there are no flights available. Kevin’s Mum “Kate” manages to hitch a lift with a Polka Band who are on their way to Milwaukee, via Chicago, in a battered old movers van.  Desperate to keep out the “Wet bandits” Kevin befriends a neighbour “Old Man Marley” at the Christmas Eve Church service, who he had previously been afraid of and the two form an unlikely alliance.

After Marley intercedes and knocks out the two burglars with a shovel, Harry and Marv are arrested and Kevin’s Family arrive home on Christmas Day.
