  • Magnesium – vanilla (like most plant based foods) contain magnesium which is a mineral that is essential for our bodies. It helps to regulate our nervous system and helps with everything from our digestion right through to helping to regulate our moods. It can help with PMS and symptoms from anxiety and depression.
  • Calcium – we all know that calcium is important for the health and strength of our bones but you probably didn’t realise that you can find it in vanilla. Calcium is also great at helping to reduce cortisol levels in our bodies. Cortisol in the stress hormone that can have a massive impact on our mental health as well as contributing to anxiety, depression and low mood.

  • Manganese – incredible just one tablespoon of vanilla contains 30 percent of your recommended daily intake of manganese. This mineral is responsible for maintaining a healthy metabolism and nervous system and again can help with our mood.
